📍 Location: Melrose, MA 🔨 Scope: New construction exterior — lap siding + board-and-batten 🎨 Finish: Sage green with black window trim
When a new build goes up in Melrose, every finishing decision is visible from the street before the landscaping ever goes in. On this project, the crew at Boston Smart Plastering delivered a clean, sharp exterior package that sets the tone for the whole property.
The Work
This two-story new construction called for a dual-profile exterior: lap siding on the lower level and board-and-batten panels running vertically up top. Both profiles finished in a deep sage green — the kind of color that photographs beautifully and holds up against New England weather. Black-trimmed windows tie the look together, giving the finished facade a modern farmhouse feel that’s popular on Melrose builds right now, and for good reason.
Why It Matters
Exterior work on a new construction isn’t a repair — it’s a first impression that has to last. Getting the profiles consistent, the seams tight, and the transitions clean between two different siding styles takes a crew that knows what they’re doing. Our guys do.
The Result
The homeowner gets a finished exterior that looks intentional, holds up to the elements, and doesn’t need to be touched again for years. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to on every job, whether it’s a remodel in a neighboring town or a full new build in Melrose.
